Dear friend. If you are looking for my theological credentials, special degrees or certificates attained in the field of religious studies, then I want to save you the trouble and confess that there aren’t any. I may offer you a copy of my B. Commerce Financial accounting degree, but my enthusiasm just left the room.
So what makes me qualified to write about Christianity?
In my view, to write a book on Christian living, you need to know the author of life, not just who He is, but be familiar with His ways. You don’t need a degree, only a relationship. I have known the Lord Jesus from a very young age. I’m a keen student of teachings by well-established and reputable Christian leaders and Bible teachers. I am also a ferocious observer of human behaviour.
The Lord Jesus has on many occasions brought breakthrough in my circumstances, in a practical way. He has revealed to me the programme to follow into His presence and it is my objective to share that unique perspective with you.
I furthermore enjoy my subject matter because God is real to me; I have experiential knowledge of His love and goodness. I have seen how other Christian parents struggle to find answers and I wish to help them. This book is my way of helping. My vision, without being too presumptuous, is to have this work translated to other African languages, to make the gospel of salvation in Jesus more accessible and user-friendly to all parents of Africa.
Am I a perfect Christian? Hell no, not even close! I still struggle with issues like anger, depression, foolish talk and swearing; the list is endless.
What I do have though, is the Holy Spirit within me, God’s Holy Word written on my heart, and that my dear friend, makes all the difference.
In this combined fiction and non-fiction work, I have expressed the view that most self-proclaimed Christians are spiritually immature because they are grossly uninformed or indifferent about their faith. Consequently, they continue to live mediocre, ineffectual, powerless lives and the rest of the unsaved world suffers because of it. In providing this complete work of revealed knowledge of the Christian Faith, it is my hope that readers, especially Christians, might be polarized, either to become impassionate for God once more or to totally relinquish their faith altogether. The central theme and purpose of the book is to spiritually equip; to set Christian minds at ease concerning the fundamental questions of their faith. Furthermore, I desperately urge readers to move on to maturity, to receive God’s greater glory necessary to save those still lost and prepare everyone to anticipate the End-times, with confidence and grit.
I have set out to learn who the Christian God is and to test the relevance and applicability of the Christian Faith in the world today. In my simple, yet methodical way I share my findings in this six part volume and carefully attempt to reconcile faith with science, biology, physiology, geography, astrology, prophecy and history. Lastly, my aim was to support immature Christian parents to grow to spiritual maturity and reach completeness, to be able to teach their own children effectively.
